S’pore taxi uncle returns laptop bag with $235,500 cash to drunk Thai passenger

If you are here regarding the taxi driver, then let yourself do your own conclusion. SMRT said they are investigating the case more than 2 months ago. With the current state of the art GPS logging, an immediate answer would be found in a day. But there was no news regarding the investigation until now. SMRT is presumed to let this embarrassing episode slide and fade away. Whoever faked the story, be it taxi driver or BCL, it doesn't matter. It's a reminder to readers not to believe everything they read from the Internet. Many online news are faked and sensationalized. Some are out there to sow hatred while vile website admins earn free ad money from your senseless clicking and sharing. Some are even setup to bait you into liking their FB or website, but in the background they phish all your personal data; either to sell or for criminal activities.

If you're here from external website, then you'll probably know the whole saga. Original CSI materials on this blog have been made private now as this is not the main purpose of this blog. The Internet should have an archive of this content somewhere. You can find it for any further research on your own.

The moment I read that article, I smell bullshit. These days, websites like TRS are corrupting the minds of the young and ignorant by ignoring facts and creating stories that would put MediaCorp script writers to sham. Singapore need more people like you. Well done.

Hi Hoongj, I commend you on your detailed and meticulous investigation on this whole case to be a conspiracy theory. I have been reading your article on it together w the updates as it has interesting snippets. Just my two cents worth and I hope to seek your opinion on this as I bring you to Update 11, 2nd last paragraph, whereby it writes "Compare this to the timestamp the article was published, which is 9th Jul 2016 (Saturday), 9.42pm. So the article was published before BCL received the story from passenger!", Could it be that the screenshot was done on the Saturday(9th June 20:56) they received the story?

SAT 20:56 is the timestamp supposedly BCL received the story from the Thai. timestamp in FB works in a way that only those message within a week will be shown as day. while it is possible the screenshot was done within a week from 9th June instead, do understand the news was published on the 9th Jul. together with a follow up of taxi driver ID on the 10th Jul and even stating the Thai left on that evening. so it is very high chance the incident happened on 9th Jul and not 9th June. and there is no reason for BCL to take the screenshot the moment if this happened on 9th June, then wait one month later to publish the news, and another few days later to come up with this heavily edited and censored message from the Thai; only after the expose.

Sorry, I meant to say the screenshot of the story received was taken 9th July 20:56 (8:56PM) , before the story was released by BCL on 9th July 9:42PM. Oh well, we shall await their side of the story and see how this event unfold :)
