Christmas in Perth

My first christmas being celebrated Down Under. However, it was not a snowy white nor cold christmas. Christmas day was right smack in the middle of a dry and hot spell; a taste of what summer's gonna be. In the heatwave, the temperature shot up to 42 degree celcius. I spent the day in Mosman Beach. Very beautiful beach with fine and silky smooth sands. It was my mistake not to apply sunscreen on my entire body. My back was roasted and had to endure few days of sunburn pains.



Seems like BBQ is the preferred christmas and summer activity for the Australians. In the week alone, I had 4 BBQs to attend. My friend was joking the other day that BBQ is one of the Australians' staple food. In the SFC BBQ and christmas party, everyone was having a great time. One of the best party ever being organized in the college.

BBQ at Mill Point

Last weekend, we had a bbq gathering at Mill Point. That was my first bbq in broad daylight. Some of our flying instructors were there to join in the fun. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon. Add in some alcohols, some got to see the moon and stars instead. It was funny to see how some of the drunks behave in the day.





A visit to Mill Point is never complete without snapping pictures of the city on a beautiful blue sky and sunny days like this. The view is just magnificent.



This is the place for the Red Bull Air Race this weekend. It's going to be an interesting finale showdown between those daredevil pilots; racing each other in crazy maneuvers. Seen in the pictures are the temporary control tower and the grand stand being erected. Check this space again for hot action pictures on race day.

BBQ at Scotty's

A simple BBQ gathering at Scotty's house to celebrate all those who have passed the flight progress tests. Also as an appreciation for all the flying guidances from Scott. Main star of the night was cute little Nicholas. Not forgetting the delicious potato pie and desserts baked by Anita. Everyone had a wonderful time; cracking jokes and stories. But felt a little guilty for staying a bit too late. Not a common sight to see an Aussie home well lit and with guests till near midnight.

BBQ Farewell Party

Leroy's dad has made a BBQ farewell party for us before we take leave to Perth, Australia. We had the party at Coastal Sands Resort in Pasir Ris. It would have been a perfect party if not for the continuous rain. But it was still fun and wonderful; as we improvised and BBQ under the rain with umbrella cover. That was certainly a first time for me and the 'wet' BBQ experience was not that bad after all. At least the rain cooled us down from the heat. I love the chicken wing marinated with Leroy's mom's secret recipe. The taste was just fantastic. Thank you to Leroy's parents for making such a wonderful party for us.
