Singapore Flying College

I have started my very first aviation ground school in Singapore Flying College in Seletar Airbase. Accomodation is not too bad as I was placed in one of the colonial houses, sharing with another 6 housemates. Although the house is a bit old, it is very spacious and comes with a big driveway and lawn area. It has the bungalow feel and very comfortable to stay in. There is another occupant apart from the 7 of us. It is the dog named "Ah Girl". According to the seniors, the dog brings good luck. I hope it does.

Civilization

Finally, we are back to civilization after 21 days of primitive survival in the jungle without handphones, money and communications. Had a great time chilling out in KLIA with our long overdue beers, cokes and burgers while waiting for our flight back to Singapore to start our ground school.

OBS

My first cadet pilot journey started off with a 21-day tough physical and mental challenge in Outward Bound School, Lumut. It was so ironic that I was there at this place just a couple weeks ago; on my last project in my previous job (check the Teluk Rubiah entry below in this blog). I still remember vividly that I was lying on the beach of Teluk Rubiah that time, pondering my future as a cadet pilot. And now, here I am, back to the same place staring at Teluk Rubiah from the other side of the beach and Pangkor Island. I guess it was a sign of fate that I am going to achieve my dreams in the aviation line.

On my days in the OBS, I have hiked up almost all the hills in the Lumut surroundings, hiked all the 3 highest peaks in Pangkor, slept in the jungles and beaches, canoed more than 60km in the open sea, being blood-sucked by gigantic leeches and mosquitoes; and all the other unimaginable activities. Man...it was one helluva challenge! Although tiring, I had fun and happy that I have did it when most people will not even dare to try upon hearing the crazy challenges. I am really proud of my achievements and also cherish all the great moments there.

SIA Final Interview

16th-19th of May, 2006. The days that forever changed my life and always be remembered. This was the week I attended my final pilot interview for Singapore Airlines in Singapore. After a tough 4 days of grilling and grueling interview sessions, I've finally MADE IT. Yes, I've made it and I'm going to be a pilot! This is a major turning point in my life and career.

Haagen Dazs

Mmm...the delicious taste of Haagen Dazs' ice-cream. How can one resist the temptations? Haha, even I sneaked out from my office for a shot of it.

Rice Bowl of Malaysia

Welcome to Kedah, the largest rice producer for the nation. Hence, it is given the title "Rice Bowl of Malaysia". The vast paddy greens that stretch beyond the horizon is a sight to behold. Life here is peaceful and very relaxing.

Teluk Rubiah

This secluded private beach is located near Lumut, Perak. The beach is wonderful but the resort is not doing well in business. It had zero occupancy when I visited this resort and it looked like a haunted resort with just few resort staffs in the office. Creepy.
